Taranaki Pioneer Village was established in 1976, and was officially opened on the 10th November 1990.
Taranaki Pioneer Village is set on a 10 acre property, and features 40 historic buildings that represent Taranaki’s pioneering history from 1850 until 1950.
There’s plenty to do and see at Taranaki Pioneer Village, you can explore the buildings of Taranaki Pioneer Village and get a glimpse of pioneering life, take a train ride around the park, enjoy the lake and bridges or feed the friendly sheep and chickens. The Blacksmith, Woodturner and Printers operate every 2nd Sunday on the month.
You are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy at Pioneer Village or you can dine at the onsite café ‘Shakee Pear’. The Shakee Pear Café has a fantastic menu full of delicious food and an outside playground for the kids to enjoy.
Every year Taranaki Pioneer Village hold two excellent annual events; War Years Day that’s held in April and Family Fun Day that is held in either October or November. Keep an eye out on their Facebook page for these event dates.
Taranaki Pioneer Village is available to book for Weddings, Corporate Events and School Groups.
